I really like Amy even though I feel she is like Blanchett who just chooses potential award winning movies. I really think Amy deserves an Oscar but for a supporting role. She's not leading actress type. I don't think she can carry a movie. And she has been nominated in supporting category 4 times and this is her first time in leading although I really don't think she should be there. Anyway, I really hope she does not win, if someone will upset Blanchett (other than Sandy) then I hope it's Judi Dench. I love how Alfonso and Sandy seemed to have developed a nice friendship. hope they'll work together again in the future. I agree. Amy should have been nominated for the supporting. I guess the distributor pushed her into the leading category to prove how the performances of this film are strong enough to get nomed for all four acting categories.

Gravity won Motion Picture Sound Editors for Best Sound Effects and Foley.
It lost Best Dialogue and ADR to Captain Phillips and Best Music Editing to The Great Gatsby.

This is not confirmed attendance, but she's listed as one of the "expected" guests at: variety.com/2014/more/news/oscar-parties-2014-the-ultimate-guide-1201111326/Feb 28 7TH ANNUAL WOMEN IN FILM PRE-OSCAR COCKTAIL PARTYWhere: Fig & Olive Who’s expected: Hosts and Oscar winners Helen Mirren and Cathy Schulman, plus nominees Amy Adams, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Lawrence, Judi Dench, Julia Roberts, Lupita Nyong’o, Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock and more. Why you don’t want to miss it: All those fabulous females in one room, plus the traditional celebratory glasses of Perrier-Jouet champagne, MAC Cosmetics gift boxes and fashions by Max Mara. And this one, she's not listed but she always goes when she's scheduled to be at the Oscars: Feb 28CAA PARTYWhere: Location is given on a need-to-know basis Who’s expected: Bryan Lourd’s best friends and CAA’s top clients Why you don’t want to miss it: Jennifer Lawrence, Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto are the agency’s top nominees this year and likely to party along with Lourd. I'm not sure about Women in Film party, but if she goes to CAA's as usual, then maybe stop by there before that. I haven't seen any photos of Sandy's since Feb 12. Hopefully Louis has gotten better.

Three FYC ads that I like. I picked up the first one on twitter where a film journalist posted from his magazine, probably Variety or Hollywood Reporter. It's a spoiler ad, but I guess it doesn't matter anymore as long as it aimed at Oscar voters.

Thanks for those. They're really cool. I especially like the second one.
