I know!!! Well, I guess he wasn't really thinking about other films in the race, but I think George votes for a film he really thinks the best. I don't think he votes just because he's in it (he didn't vote for himself in 2009 and voted for Jeff Bridges). I just watched George's appearance on Letterman and felt sad that he didn't mention anything about "Gravity." It's about promoting his own film, but at the end of the show, Letterman asked him about upcoming films. "Gravity" isn't upcoming film but he could have mentioned since it's still being released. Oh well... Every time I see Sandy, Alfonso and David attending event together, I feel warm as they seem to have bonded so strongly, but at the same time, I always feel it would be nice if George attended at least once with them.Agree with all of that! I think he will be voting for Alfonso, at least. And I hope he vote for Sandra as well, but I don't know, he directed Cate Blanchett and produced Meryl's film, so, we will never know haha

Damn it, lost Eddie Awards to Captain Phillips. Editors awards is very important for the Best Pictures. Comedy category goes to American Hustle. I wish at least 12 Years A Slave won over Captain Phillips... I don't think Captain Phillips is a threat in Best Picture, but I just don't want American Hustle to win BP!!

Oh, I was hoping a Gravity win I think that the Oscar will go for Gravity anyway. The Academy doesn't seem to like CP that much, it failed to get Best Actor and Best Director nominations, and they are like 2000 members in total, so.. This Oscar race is crazy! In a good way, it's very interesting!

Gravity won ADG (Art Directors Guild) Awards! Well, the category is divided into three; period, contemporaty and fanstasy. Gravity won for fantasy. Great Gatsby for period, Her for contemporaty. I wonder how it works out at the Oscars.

I think that Production Design is where Gravity has less chances. It's Great Gatsby to lose, Gravity being second. But an "upset" still could happen.

You are right, he said wonderful things, and he is right about it "You don’t get that kind of honesty unless the performer is as honest and genuine as they person they play…and that’s exactly who Sandra is. That is the reason why she is a box office queen, why her star power alone took her to the Oscar podium for The Blind Side. People adore Sandra Bullock because she’s simply Sandra, no smokescreen or artificiality whatsoever." What I liked the most was: "There’s still a chance Sandra could get swept up in the love-fest that Gravity is sure to elicit come Oscar night" haha

I finally saw "American Hustle" and I nodded off a few times haha so I shouldn't judge the film as a whole, but my impression on the film was what I had expected actually. Very shallow film with great performances. So, I really don't what it to win the Best Picture anywhere. As for Amy Adams, while she's obviously good, but definitely not a "leading lady" performance. I mean, none of them carries the film. Just a part of ensemble. If Amy upsets and wins the Best Actress with this film, it'd be a shame imo.
And I realized Jennifer Lawerence's voice is annoying haha.

Yep, it's an actors' film! David O. Russell said that was all about the characters. I think that the only lead is Bale. Amy, Bradley and obviously JLaw are all supporting roles. Amy and Bradley had almost the same screen-time, however he got a nod at supporting and she at lead. Which is a pitty because Amy would have more chances to win in supporting. Hahah Jennifer's accent in the film was a bit too much, but I actually loved her performance. I prefer her over Lupita, which I find a little overrated.

I meant Jennifer's voice itself, not her accent. Her voice reminds me of Scarlett Johansson(sp)'s voice, which I don't like. That makes me worry about seeing "Her" actually. I like Spike Jonz but if Scarlett's voice dominates the film...
I don't want David O. Russell to win Best Picture nor Best Director. He relied on the actors' performances, which all of them had been already proved great, too much. Using the same actors as ensemble again and again...even with Robert De Niro. And I hope someone will let Jennifer Lawrence play age-appropriate role in a film not "The Hanger Games." She can play much older woman when she is older. Younger roles can be played only when they are actually young.

Oh, I got it. And I don't like Scarlett's voice neither. In some scenes of "Her" I would have punched her in the face if I could have, because of her voice and for what she was saying haha Not only her voice is annoying in the film, the character is too, in my opinion.
I don't want David or AH to win neither. Now that I have seen 12YaS I think that McQueen did an amazing job directing the film. So, he is second to Alfonso. While I liked a lot 12YaS, I don't like it as much as I though I would do. It's behind Gravity (of course) and TWOWS, for me.

Producers discuss their leading actors' best scene on LA Times. www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-en-oscar-moment-20140213,0,1910734,full.story#axzz2t1m5Emma Sandra Bullock / "Gravity" The setup: While working on the Hubble Space Telescope, a first-time astronaut and her veteran mentor are cast adrift when space debris destroys their shuttle. Key scene: "The scene where Sandra is just spinning away, hyperventilating and in a panic, she's absolutely out of control," producer David Heyman says. "She has to go from that to a gradual acceptance that she is lost, that no one is going to save her. There's nowhere to hide, no cut, all done in one shot. She's drifting off into the void physically, which reflects emotionally where she is in the film. She has to do it all behind a visor and in a space suit — there's no physical means of expression except her eyes and her breath. And she did all of this while being filmed largely in what we called the light box. It was an incredibly technical exercise as well as being a beautiful acting moment in pure performance." If you weren't into directing what would you be doing?- I would be an assistant to George Clooney, the cobbler. I would only do the right foot as Daniel Day-Lewis does the other. Hahahaha that one was hilarious! Do you see yourself working with Sandra Bullock again? Why? - In a second.

I really like Amy even though I feel she is like Blanchett who just chooses potential award winning movies. I really think Amy deserves an Oscar but for a supporting role. She's not leading actress type. I don't think she can carry a movie. And she has been nominated in supporting category 4 times and this is her first time in leading although I really don't think she should be there. Anyway, I really hope she does not win, if someone will upset Blanchett (other than Sandy) then I hope it's Judi Dench.
I love how Alfonso and Sandy seemed to have developed a nice friendship. hope they'll work together again in the future.
