It's safe to say "Gravity" will be getting lots of nominations/honors throughout the awards season, not limited to Sandy's own. So, this thread is for any information and our discussion about that for anybody involved with the movie. Major nominations may get a separate thread. WB has launched its FYC site. www.warnerbros2013.com/screenings/film.php?film=gravityAttachments:

From early Dec, nominations start being announced. Among the movies that awards watchers have been talking about, I've only seen "Gravity," so I can't really judge and I won't be able to see most of the films before the Oscars. But my prediction at this point, "Gravity" will most like to be nominated by lots of awards, for the following categories:
Most likely to be nominated: Picture Dicrector Actress Cinematography Editing Sound Editing Sound Mixing Original score Visual Effects
Fair chance to be nominated: Original Screenplay Production Design
Not looking good: Supporting Actor
No chance: Costume Design Hair & Make-up
Key dates for major awards are:
Dec 3 -- NY Film Critics Circle Winners announcement Dec 4 -- national Board of Review Winners announcement Dec 8 -- LA Film Critics Association Winners announcement Dec 11 -- SAG Nomination announcement Dec 12 -- Golden Globes Nomination announcement Dec 16 -- Critics Choice Nomination announcement Jan 8 -- BAFTA Nomination announcement
Jan 12 -- Golden Globes Awards
Jan 16 -- Oscars Nomination announcement
Jan 16 -- Critics Choice Awards Jan 17 -- SAG Awards
Feb 10 -- Oscars Nominees Luncheon
Feb 16 -- BAFTA Awards
March 2 -- Oscars

Wow, thanks for the breakdown Bel.
I'm sure Gravity will win for a couple of things. I really do hope though that Sandy gets something too.

Has anyone seen Loverboy? Sorry I know that question is off topic but just wanted to know as I've never been able to get hold of it.

I saw this movie like 4 times already. I own it on DVD. I really like it. Sandy role is small in it but really cute and nice, and quite important to the main character.

Yeah, I own the DVD too. I can't say I like the movie itself a lot, but Sandy's role is very different and as snajper said, important to the main character.

I'm not really sure how important this Satellite Awards is. Their presentation is even after the Oscars, and if you look at the past ceremony, not many atttended. So, I just put it here instead of a separate thread. Sandy and "Gravity" are nominated in several categories, but I can't believe they didn't nominate Alfonso Cuaron in director's category. www.pressacademy.com/award_cat/current-nominees/Actress in a Motion PictureMeryl Streep August: Osage County The Weinstein Co. Judi Dench Philomena The Weinstein Co. Sandra Bullock Gravity Warner Bros. Cate Blanchett Blue Jasmine Sony Pictures Classics Adèle Exarchopoulos Blue Is the Warmest Color Sundance Emma Thompson Saving Mr. Banks Disney Best Motion PictureInside Llewyn Davis CBS Films 12 Years a Slave Fox Searchlight Philomena The Weinstein Co. American Hustle Sony Gravity Warner Bros. The Wolf of Wall Street Paramount Saving Mr. Banks Disney All Is Lost Lionsgate, Roadside Attractions Blue Jasmine Sony Pictures Classics And Cinematography, Visual Effects, film Editing, and Sound (Editing & Mixing) are also nominated. Added: It's strange, the official website doesn't include Cuaron, but other sites reporting he is nominated... www.awardsdaily.com/blog/satellite-awards-nominations/www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/satellite-award-nominations-12-years-660848

New York Film Critics Circle announced the winner today and "Gravity" didn't win anything. I didn't think it would win for Picture or Director or Actress (because those critics circles tend to go for a smaller arty films), but I was really surprised that it didn't win Cinematography. Darn it. Full list is here: www.nyfcc.com/awards/

National Board of Review announced their winners. It's very interesting how all those critics choose differently. NYFCC's best picture "American Hustle" didn't even make it to top ten films here. "Gravity" didn't win... well, it is honored "Creative Innovation in Filmmaking Award" and included their top films. Best Actress goes to Emma Thompson for "Saving Mr. Banks." www.nationalboardofreview.org/2013/12/national-board-review-announces-2013-award-winners/Best Picture: "Her" Top Films (in alphabetical order) 12 YEARS A SLAVE Fruitvale Station GravityInside Llewyn Davis Lone Survivor Nebraska Prisoners Saving Mr. Banks The Secret Life of Walter MITTY THE Wolf of Wall Street

Thanks for listing up. I was checking the annoucement last night but couldn't wait till the end. Too sleepy!
Glad to know that finally "Gravity" and Alfonso won. I didn't expect Sandy to win any. But she'll be most likely nominated by Golden Globes, SAG, Critics Choice and the Oscar. But again, I don't expect her to win any. Cate Blanchett is too strong this year.
