Congratulations Team Gravity! 10 nominations. oscar.go.com/nomineesBest Picture Best Director Best Actress Best Cinematography Best Editing Best Original Score Best Production Design Best Sound Editing Best Sound Mixing Best Visual Effects Too bad that it missed the Original Screenplay, which is a huge disadvantage to win the Best Picture as "American Hustle" and "12 Year A Slave" have been nominated for writing. But let's hope the best for Gravity!

I was hoping a surprise screenplay nomination too, but anyway it's the most nominated film along with American Hustle, so it's a good thing! I think it's a three horse race between 12 Years, American Hustle and Gravity!
I wonder if Amy Adams nomination helps or hurts Sandra chances.. Amy could take away Cate's votes or Sandra's! I hope the first one!
I can't believe they snub Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks!
Alfonso's words: "Thank you Academy for this incredible recognition. These nominations are not just about single achievements, but rather the collective effort of hundreds of dedicated artists who made this dream a reality. On behalf of everyone involved with Gravity I want to express our deepest gratitude to the industry, the exhibitors and the public for embracing this film so passionately. A special thank you to our friends and collaborators at Warner Bros. for staying on board this journey for more than four years. I am particularly moved by Sandy's nomination. She is the heartbeat of our film. She immersed herself in the part. And I thank her for her grace, her trust and her dedication to finding the truth of this character."
I love what he says about Sandra always! And I love the fact that he calls her "Sandy"

This is amazing! I'm so happy and proud of Sandy and everyone involved in making Gravity the masterpiece that it is.
Thanks for the links Bel.
Did Sandy or the interviewer say this...?
I love the movie “Her.” I said, "I don’t know what happened to me afterward, but there was this shift." It threw me so off in a good way. Scarlett Johansson -- you never see that girl’s face. But she conveys everything in that movie.
The 'I said' part is what's making me confused.

I believe "I said" part is how Sandy felt when she watched "Her, " like she was talking to herself. So, that's her words.

Ooooooooooh, I loved this part: "As for her son, "He has no idea what I do. He doesn't care. He asks me why I was an astronaut. I let him watch occasional things. He doesn't like that I leave home at night to do these events. ... I'm staring at him right now." I can imagine her a bit emotional staring at him! PS: I hate "HER"

I think Sandra is the first actor/actress to achieve a nomination for a role in a 3D movie!

Another phone interview after the nomination by Hollywood Reporter: www.hollywoodreporter.com/race/sandra-bullock-gravity-oscar-nom-671771This is like 4th phone interview after the nod? I wonder if other nominees are doing the same thing. Usually they release one or two brief comments. I wonder WB is trying to impress by letting her do this. It must be hard to come up with different things in a short period of time.

The preferential voting it's done to let more members happy and less members angry haha
I think that it's pretty much the same as making an average of all the ballots. Counting the #1 votes, the #2 votes, the #3 votes, etc.. And the one with lower average is the winner.
I don't like the fact that members can hurt a movie, if they want to.
