I think & hope Sandy will be a presenter again, and my guess is for Best Visual Effects as Gravity will win for sure.

Thanks. I was going to post it too. So, the preferential voting applied only for BP. I was wondering if that applied for other major categories. I hear it does apply for other categories for nomination voting, but not sure.
While I like commercial films get recognized, I don't see the point of nominating that many when a half of the film have zero chance to win. I like the way AFI recognize top 10 films without a winner.

Yeap, only for BP to determine the winner.. I am not so sure about the nominations, but I think it applies to almost all the other categories as well.
I think I like the "5 to 10" BP nominees because some years there are more than 5 movies that deserve a nomination, but other years not so much haha

Dream Ballots:
BP: Gravity BD: Alfonso BA: Leo BAs: Sandra BSA: Leto or Fassbender BSAs: Squibb or Lawrence OS: Nebraska AS: TWOWS

I have only seen "Gravity" and "American Hustle," so my prediction is based on the general predictions lol But pretty much the same as sbfanargentina.
My prediction:
BP: 12 Years A Slave (spoiler: Gravity) BD: Alfonso Cuaron (spoiler: Steve McQueen) BActor: Matthew McConaughey (spoiler: Leonardo DiCaprio) BActress: Cate Blanchett (no spoilers) BSActor: Jared Leto (no spoilers) BSActress: Lupita Nyong'o (spoiler: Jennifer Lawrence -- please not happen!) OScreenplay: Her (spoiler: American Hustle) AScreenplay: 12 Years A Slave (spoiler: Wolf of Wall Street)
And I predict "Gravity" will win Sound Editing/Sound Mixing/VFX, and hopefully Cinematography/Music. I do hope it'll win Editing, but it missed the Eddie and Bafta, so not sure.

I hope Gravity sweep all the tech awards! But yeah, I don't know about Editing, it could go to Cap. Phillips as well as Sound Mixing. Hope I am wrong. I just want to say that I am loving this BP race. I am predicting Gravity but I know that it could easily go to 12YaS too. It's 50/50 to me. I really don't know and I can't wait to know haha. There are plenty of reasons to think Gravity will take but there are plenty of reasons to think 12YaS will take it too haha I'm leaning to Gravity because of the DGA+PGA, because of the preferential ballot, because of the unusual BP/BD split, because of the tech branches push, etc.

As the Olympics is over, the presenters will be announced soon I guess? I really hope Sandy will be a presenter as well. I want her on stage somehow!

Haha, I know what you mean. Seeing as its very unlikely she'll be accepting an award, I'd want some Sandy action on stage. I think she may be a presenter. Correct me if I'm wrong but she's been presenting since she won an Oscar herself right?

The list of presenters is released but Sandy isn't there. So disappointing... She has been presenting since 2010 for 4 years in a row, so maybe they decided to give her a break this year. Well, I guess every time "Gravity" wins something, the camera will catch her probably. And if "Gravity" wins BP, maybe she'll go up to the stage... www.oscars.org/press/pressreleases/2014/20140224.htmlAmy Adams Kristen Bell Jessica Biel Jim Carrey Glenn Close Bradley Cooper Penélope Cruz Benedict Cumberbatch Viola Davis Daniel Day-Lewis Robert De Niro Zac Efron Sally Field Harrison Ford Jamie Foxx Andrew Garfield Jennifer Garner Whoopi Goldberg Joseph Gordon-Levitt Anne Hathaway Goldie Hawn Chris Hemsworth Kate Hudson Samuel L. Ah that is disappointing! Guess we just have to be sharp and wait for quick camera glances.

What I don't like is the fact that too many American Hustle people; Amy, Bradley, Jennifer L, even Robert De Niro. And I'm also disappointed that Ben Affleck isn't listed. He's presented to Alfonso at GG, PGA and DGA. If he presents for BP at the Oscars, I'd feel better lol

Yes, five years in a row would be a record haha Well, I guess every time "Gravity" wins something, the camera will catch her probably. And if "Gravity" wins BP, maybe she'll go up to the stage... Please God, let this happen! Especially the last one! I wonder who will present BP.. maybe: Robert De Niro, Harrison Ford or Sidney Poitier? Sidney will present something "big". If it's not BP, maybe BD? or 12YaS clip? And who will present Gravity clip? mmm

For BP presenter, I'd think Harrison Ford because he has nothing to do with the top 3 contenders. Or Kevin Spacey? I'd think Harrison and Kevin will be either BP or BD. It would be a bit awkward if Sidney Poitier has to present "Gravity" or Alfonso instead of "12 Years A Slave" or McQueen imo. I'm not sure how they presents BP nominees... sometimes they present each, but sometime they present as a group. I think last year, one presenter introduce 3 nominated films. But if each film is introduced, maybe Emma Watson for "Gravity"? I don't know any other presenters have anything to do with Alfonso...
