Surprise, surprise, Sandy for a musical? I never thought she would even just consider it. Anyway, according to Hollywood Reporter, Sandy is in early talk with Sony for the remake of "Annie." www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/sandra-bullock-talks-annie-remake-567621Will Smith and Jay-Z are producing the update of the classic comic strip-turned-musical. Sandra Bullock is in early talks to join Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhane Wallis in Annie, the update of the classic comic strip-turned-musical that Sony is making with producers Will Smith andJay-Z. Bullock would play Miss Hattigan, the mean lady who runs the orphanage inhabited by Annie (Wallis) and her friends. (Foxx will play a modern incarnation of Daddy Warbucks, a billionaire named Benjamin Stacks.) But that is only if a deal makes. Bullock and the studio were in talks in March but the actress ultimately passed at the time. Now the two sides are back at the table. Carol Burnett memorably played the role in the 1982 movie. Will Gluck is directing the project, which has a host of producers: Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment banner partner James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Jay-Z. Also producing are Jay Brown and Tyran gTy Tyh Smith through Marcy Media. Sony is eyeing a late fall production start for an anticipated 2014 release.

Thank you for the info! I'm really surprise about that. Ugh... I hate musicals. Didn't Sandy said something about not liking it either? Will Smith and Jay-Z producing. I don't know... the whole project is really weird for me.

That would be something different! I am curious. I love that Sandra Bullock makes a lot of interesting choices about her movies. R rated comedy, Sci-Fiction movie, Animation, and now Musical!

According to IMDB trivia she hates musicals and vows never to do one. I think she rejected "Chicago" and (considering how she loves to dance and her musical background) her dislike would be the only reason for her never to do one before in her career. But who knows, maybe she changed her mind. For sure I agree with all the previous posters, considering this is an unexpected and weird Project that makes me feel curious. Also the fact that she plays two vilains in a row ("Minions" and this), even if they are in a funny light, pleases me. Lets hope that later comes a real EVIL vilain!

Well, I didn't think this would become true, but anyway.... www.thewrap.com/movies/column-post/sandra-bullock-wont-be-annie-remake-after-negotiations-end-exclusive-98326The sun won't come out tomorrow after all for Sandra Bullock. The actress won't be joining the cast of Sony's "Annie" reboot after a second attempt to get her in the cast fell through, according to an individual familiar with the dealmaking process. Bullock was in line to play Miss Hannigan, who runs the orphanage where Annie (Quvenzhane Wallis) and her friends live. She had initially passed on the role before coming back to the negotiating table, though her representatives at CAA were unable to strike a deal with Sony. While it would've been fun to see Bullock making life hell for little orphan Annie, there are several other top comic actresses who Sony will be pursuing in the coming days, so stay tuned. Directed by Will Gluck and produced by Will Smith and Jay-Z, "Annie" is scheduled to sing its way into theaters on Christmas Day 2014, the same day as Disney's star-studded Stephen Sondheim musical "Into the Woods."
