Lupita Nyong'o is chosed as People's Most Beautiful Person 2014, and Sandy is among the Most Beautiful at Every Age. www.people.com/people/package/gallery/0,,20360857_20687458_30118804,00.html#21296817 They should have used her latest photo if that's for the "age" -- the photo is from 2011. I'm not sure if she is also among "50 most beautiful."

I really like Lupita. I haven't watched "12 years a slave" yet(saw a couple of scenes and she seemed great), but I liked the way she handled all the fuzz of the oscars and after her winning.
I'm sorry if there's any Julia Roberts fan here but I just don't get how she can manage even a tiny pic on the cover and that media atention every single year. I remember when Sandra and Louis were on the cover, Julia was "supoosed to be the full cover". Julia hasn't been in a noticeble year in a long time. There are actresses that had a way better year, like Melissa McCarthy and Cate Blanchett. Well, her publicist must be great. Also, I feel they(media, critics) completely forgot about Sandra after the Oscar nomination came out.

I actually saw "12 Years A Slave" today. Steve McQueen came to Japan for his art exhibition, and since the movie was still running, he came to the cinema to greet the audience. Lupita is great, but to be honest, I'd give Michael Fassbender the award over Lupita. And I'd give the Oscar to "Gravity" over "12 Years A Slave."
I think Julia Roberts has been getting lots of media attention lately just because her HBO TV movie is coming out soon. Yeah, her publicist is doing a good job I guess haha. If you look back the past list, those who made the cover or a small photo on the cover usually have something new. Not Lupita I guess, but that's also very much political. They need to put some non-white face once in a while and Lupita was a perfect choice for that. Back to Julia, I used to like her a lot but not anymore. But we also have to accept that Julia is still one of the biggest stars in the world. Bigger than Sandy actually.
I think Sandy had okay attention from the critics after the nomination... I mean, it wasn't her year anyway, and not much discussion about the Best Actress race as it was pretty much done deal. So, there wasn't much talk about BA itself. I think 2009-2010 was just crazy. I guess Sandy must have learned how it's like being a loser in the award race haha. I hope she'll sign on a new movie soon. We need something to look forward to. There is "Minions" but we need to see her!

I don't know, but for me she lost it yeaaars ago, maybe that's just because I don't like her tho haha. I don't follow her career or anything, but I don't think she can even make large box office openings anymore, plus she took what? 12 or 13 years to get another Oscar nod after her win? And she only got it because they pushed her in, let's face it. I know she is known, but I don't think she's very well liked. I'm sorry if there's fans, but she's kinda bitchy, especially when people ask about new sweethearts, such as JLaw (and I don't even care about her) now and Sandy when she had her boom and was called the "new julia" or whatever hahaha. I never liked Julia tho and I'm pretty sure she doesn't like Sandy which makes me like her even less haha. I'm glad it's Lupita! And I agree with gps13, she handled the fuzz very well. And yes, we need to SEE her in a movie, especially because here in my city they always release animations dubbed since it's for kids, so I won't even hear her voice

I think Julia is a "big star" as in Tom Hanks being a "big star." Those people have established their names long time ago and their status doesn't change whether their movies flop. I don't think Sandy has reached that status yet. She's not that big internationally.
Anyway, I agree that Julia doesn't like Sandy, and Julia seems to be bitchy. I didn't like her being so "showy" around other big names like Meryl Streep or George Clooney. And I didn't like she ignored Sandy's comments about "George Clooney being a joint custody" at the Palm Springs.
In Japan, an animation is sometimes released theatrically only in dubbed version, but when it comes to DVD/Blu-ray, it always has subtitle version too.

Yes, she might be then, don't really know. I didn't realize how big Sandy was in my own country 'till this year, it's kinda weird since years ago, before her oscar win, people wouldn't notice her that much haha. Good weird tho. animations are released in original language even on theaters here but not in my city.
