I guess it's good that "Despicable Me 2" is so strong because, then, "Minions" will be successful too. Anyway, since it's an Independent Day week, Week 1's Box Office is still estimate. www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=bullockmccarthy.htmWeek 1 (June 28 - July 4)US Gross: $61,398,000 (estimate)Rank: TBA Theatres: 3,181 Average: $19,301 Outside US gross as of June 30: $943,334Worldwide: $62,341,334FYI: 1st week US gross:Bridesmaids: $38,459,240 (Total US gross: $169,106,725) Identity Thief: $47,287,785 (Total US gross: $134,506,920) The Proposal: $50,583,930 (Total US gross: $163,958,031)

It did well in the 2nd week and it'll go over $100M in US this weekend! 3 out of 5 recent films of hers will have crossed $100M bar, which is something. (And most likely "Minions" will make it to $100M too. Hopefully "Graviy" as well, but not sure about that one.) www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekly&id=bullockmccarthy.htmWeek 2 (July 5 - July 11 )US Gross: $36,868,189 (-40.0%) Rank: 3 Theatres: 3,184(+3) Average: $11,579 US Gross as of July 11: $98,363,477Outside US gross as of July 7: $6,103,000 Worldwide: $104,466,477Attachments:

So, officially it has passed $100M in US. Yay! When we look at the huge budget of other films on chart, this movie will probably be one of the most profitable films of the year. www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/?yr=2013&wknd=28&p=.htmWeekend 3 (July 12 - July 14)US Gross: $14,002,080 (-43.5%) Rank: 4 Theatres: 3,128 (-56 ) Average: $4,476 US Gross as of July 14: $112,365,557Outside US gross as of July 14: $15,875,000 Worldwide: $128,240,557Attachments:

It did well on week 3, but not as good as the same week of "Bridesmaids" so it may not reach that much ($169,106,726) when it's done. Week 3 (July 12 - July 18 )US Gross: $21,603,959 (-41.4%) Rank: 4 Theatres: 3,128 (till July 16), 2,995 (from July17; -189) Average: $7,213 US Gross as of July 18: $119,967,436Outside US gross as of July 14: $15,875,000 Worldwide: $135,842,436Attachments:

Just like any other Sandy films, this film has been holding well among the blockbusters. UK release will be coming up this weekend, and hopefully it's a hit. In the meantime, I'm sorry for Ryan Reynolds. Two movies flopped hard in the same weekend... He needs a big hit or critical hit soon. www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/Weekend 4 (July 19 - July 21)US Gross: $9,303,788 (-33.6%) Rank: 8 Theatres: 2,689(-439 ) Average: $3,460 US Gross as of July 21: $129,271,224Outside US gross as of July 14: $15,875,000Worldwide: $145,146,224Attachments:

It has almost surpassed the total US BO of "Identity Thief," and i has earned more than "The Proposal" did in 28 days. For outside US, Austraila is doing good. Hopefully UK opens big. www.boxofficemojo.com/weekly/chart/?yr=2013&wk=29&p=.htmWeek 4 (July 19 - July 25)US Gross: $14,427,308 (-33.2%) Rank: 8 Theatres: 2,689 (-306) Average: $5,365 US Gross as of July 25: $134,394,744Outside US gross as of July 21: $23,499,702 Worldwide: $157,894,446Attachments:

Not many big releases at the States this weekend, so "The heat" still at the top ten, gets number 8 surpassing "RIPD", which was released just one week ago. (As Bel said, I kind of feel sorry for Ryan Reynolds). www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=bullockmccarthy.htmUS box office: 141.000.000 $. Foreign markets: 28.600.000 $ (this only includes the results until the weekend of July 21, and there are yet no number for United Kingdom. So, say, international b.o. might be around 35 milions now?) Being now the 7th most succesful film at the " Buddy Cop movie" category, it will easily escalate some positions to be in top 5 of this genre: www.boxofficemojo.com/genres/chart/?id=actionbuddycomedy.htmBack to the foreign markets topic, the films has yet to be released in almost all Europe and in some countries of Latin America. And lets cross fingers and hope Bel gets it also! Patience!

Ok, Jorgelee Walker, you are an idiot. There are no number for United Kingdom because it is not released until july 31st. I will punish myself by watching "In love and war" and "Miss congeniality 2: armed and fabulous".

Don't worry jorgeleewalker, I got confused about UK release too! Funny that those two movies are your punishment? I wonder which one for me among Sandy films... probably "Speed 2" lol "All About Steve" comes close but I'd watch it in commentary, which is really funny, funnier than the film itself.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the release in my country. Probably next year. This kind of comedies don't work in Japan and usually goes straight to DVD if it's lucky. But with Sandy, I think Fox Japan will at least release it at cinema, but they don't have it in their line-up yet.

It has held on in top 10 for week 5, which is really good, and the dropping rate is very small compared to the other films. Poor Ryan.... www.boxofficemojo.com/weekly/chart/?yr=2013&wk=30&p=.htmWeek 5 (July 26 - August 1)US Gross: $10,446,318(-27.6%) Rank: 8 Theatres: 2,136 (-553) Average: $4,891 US Gross as of August 1: $144,841,062Outside US gross as of July 28: $28,600,000 Worldwide: $173,441,062Attachments:

August 6, Tuesday, must be the last day for this title in top 10 as there are two new wide release titles on Wednesday. www.boxofficemojo.com/daily/chart/So far, this film has earned impressive $150,707,272 (40 days) in US for the modest budget of $43M. For worldwide, $187,407,272 (opened #1 at UK box office). I'm not sure how much longer it will run in US, but it may end around $155M? So, it won't probably beat "The Proposal ($163,958,031) " nor "Bridesmaids" ($169,106,725).
