Thanks for sharing.
I saw somewhere that DVD release in Germany in November. I assume in US it will be a bit earlier, but god, I have to wait that long...

Yay. Finally the UK release and I went to see it straight away...
After watching all the junkets, interviews etc. I really thought that the humour would predominately be rude. While there definitely is a lot of that it wasn't the sum of the whole film (which I'm glad as its personally not my kind of humour - too much of it isn't anyway)...
It's true that Melissa does dominate the majority if not all the scenes but I do think thats mainly because of the character she plays. On a whole, Melissa definitely got a lot more laughs but again I think thats to do with the way the script was and the character she plays. (I'm pretty sure I'm not just saying this cos I love Sandy).
Our girl was of course great as always. She definitely got a lot of laughs too and was cool to see her character evolvement. Her physical comedy for me was right on the money. Was great seeing her on the big screen doing what you know she gets a kick out of. There were times when you could tell she was about to laugh or in fact did but they edited it. Oh, and she looked hot in the club scene!
Overall, a good film with good comedy, fantastic chemistry and at times a hint of drama.
Oh and the cinema was packed and everyone seemed to enjoy the film. At the end I heard a lot of people saying they loved it. So fingers crossed it does well here.
EDIT: Its like I do want to see a sequel because it'd be good to see these characters again but at the same time sometimes its best leaving the audience wanting more and not actually giving it to them.

Thank you for your review. Good to know the cinema was packed!
"There were times when you could tell she was about to laugh or in fact did but they edited it."
I've read that some other people said the same thing, which I don't think a good acting actually. You shouldn't give audience that kind of impression. They should've editted better way...

It's kinda late to post it but the movie finally comes out this weekend in Brazil but I find out it's dubbed. I'm pretty disappointed. So I decided to watch it before friday(in a Captain Jack Sparron way).
Best comedy I've seen in years. I had pretty high expectations on that one and it turned out even better. I remember Sandy saying by the time of The Proposal that romantic comedies weren't funny nor romantics anymore... I think the same thing about Hollywood comedies. They're not funny. But The Heat really has the thing of a buddy-cop and it's hilarious. The whole night club scene was histerical. There are some cliches moments but there weren't too much stereotyped characters(this usually annoys me). If someone stole the show, it was the Mullin's family. Sandy and Melissa pretty much completed each other. I've never seen Sandy having that much chemistry with anyone else. The movie works because of it. Anyway I didn't care for the bad language at all, kinda used to it actually. And I liked the "dramatic" scenes, some of them were adorable. Oh! And I loved the soundtrack.
So I may say this is one of the funniest (if not THE funniest) movie she made. And I definitely DON'T wan a sequel. For the same reasons Sandy doesn't want it neither.
*SPOILER ALERT!!!* By the end of the movie I love the part in the hospital, when Mullins is all worried and when she signs Ashburn's yearbook. It was adorable. And I could barely breath at the "I'm a pony" scene.

Thank you so much for your review! I really mean it as, one of the reasons I decided to continue a board after SBC was shut down was I wanted to talk about those things with other Sandy fans. And what you guys think about her movies/performances is what I really want to know.
And glad to know you love it gps13! I'll post mine when I finally get to see it.

Late for the show, but I finally watched "The Heat" on Blu-ray. In my country, it still has no release date, so I got it from US.
Okay, I enjoyed it more than I had thought I would. All those F-words didn't bother me much, and Sandy's part is actually much bigger than I had imagined. I didn't laugh out loud, but I giggled throughout and occasionally I really laughed. And in the end, I found myself hoping for the sequel, which was surprising to me.
While I understand Sandy's reluctance of sequels, this film seems to me that it ended like it meant to have a sequel. Sandy should have known that, and in an interview during London premiere, the screenwriter Katie said both Sandy and Melissa seemed to be positive about the sequel.
I kinda feel there was some kind of disagreement between Sandy and Paul Feig, but maybe I'm thinking too much. Anyway, the chemistry between Sandy & Melissa is epic. I really hope they'll do another comedy together.

I didn't get the chance to see the movie when it was in theaters and had to wait for the DVD release to watch it. I don't own it yet. I still need to get my own copy, but I did get to watch a rental copy.
Before watching I was worried about how much I would like the movie, mostly due to the language. There were times when the language was a bit much, but overall I enjoyed the movie. I watched it with one of my aunts and my grandmother and we all liked it.
