I checked my blu-ray (US version), and there is "Sandra & George" segment (much longer version of the glamour mag's video), which is lots of fun, but no birthday video included. And on my blu-ray, there is no "Sandra's Surprise" segment. I haven't checked other segments, so there is a possibility it is included one of them, but from the title of the segments, it sounds unlikely...
If there is "a birthday video" I really want to see. It should be by Alfonso to Sandy because the wrapping was closer to Sandy's birthday. Alfonso's b-day is November.
I should create a thread for blu-ray/dvd. I'll do that later and put everything related there.

When I said I read two things I meant that they are differents things, it is one or the other, either it's a birthday video or it's a part on the "Sandra and George" video (which I doubt, there is a lot of funny stuff there but there is not any "surprise"). I read that here: thenerdmagazine.com/luca-parmitano-presenta-gravity-presso-la-sapienza-di-roma/And here: www.hometheaterforum.com/articles.html/_/dvd-blu-ray-reviews/gravity-blu-ray-review-r525?st=0#comment_4054334When I said that I had an idea what the "Sandra's surprise" could be, I was thinking on that part at 0:45:28 on the "Mission Control" video.. but now I don't know! It has to be something haha I was thinking on what the guy of the review said: "Lastly, Sandra’s Surprise is a terrific bonus feature that is a must-see. We won’t say a word about it though, as it will ruin… the surprise!" He must have seen it, unless he invented all that up haha Also, I have read (on one of those pages) that the "Silent Space Version" is not included, neither. And he thinks that maybe there will be an "extra weighty edition". I feel like Sherlock Holmes haha

It sounds like there should be a separate segment "Sandra's surprise".... Darn it, why isn't it included in the blu-ray? US version should have everything!
Thanks for all of your detective work! I really doubt there will be another "extra weighty edition" though. Should I get an Italian version? haha....

I google-translated that Italian about "Sandra's Surprise" and it actually said b-day video from Sandy to Alfonso. It doesn't make sense but anyway, I wonder if that segmant has been removed from the special features, and only those who got the sample versions could see it? Darn it, I really want to see it haha.

Yeah, I really want to see it too! The guy of the first review said it's a "must-see", so we MUST see it haha
I sent a private message to "The nerd magazine" asking about it, I asked them this: "It is a birthday video? Did you see it? Is there any chance I can download from somewhere?" and they answered me this: ""Sandra's surprise" è un extra in cui Sandra fa un video sorpresa per il compleanno di Alfonso Cuaròn. Purtroppo non so dove sia possibile scaricaricarlo a parte. Ci risulta anche che dovrebbe essere presente in tutte le versioni, sia del Blu ray che del Dvd"
I also sent a message to "Movie fanatic" (where they said it's a must-see) and they answered me this:
"Hi sorry you're having trouble finding it... my copy has it... and it's in the press release: “Gravity” Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and 2-Disc Standard Definition DVD Special Edition contain the following special features: · Collision Point: The Race to Clean Up Space (Narrated by Ed Harris) · Aningaaq - A short film by Jonás Cuarón · Gravity Mission Control · Shot Breakdowns · Sandra’s Surprise! I'll contact the studio and see if it's one they dropped before release for whatever reason"
Then I replied this: "I have read that "Sandra's surprise" is a birthday video made by Sandra but then I read that "Sandra's surprise" got incorporated into the "Sandra and George" video."
But they haven't answered me yet. I will let you know if they answer again.
I hope the argentinian version has it. If so, I will upload it so you all can see it. But I don't know when it's going to be in our stores.

Thank you sbfanargentina for your continued detective work!
Well, it's good at least they replied to you. That "Movie fanatic" person must have seen it on a sample version for press, then. Hopefully they will tell you if the studio had pulled it off before the offcial release.
I don't think it'll be included in other country's version if not in the US version. I checked it won't be included in Japanese version (which will be on sale in late April). If the birthday video is actually removed, my guess is a) some copyright problem - usually due to music; or b) too personal, so Alfonso and/or Sandy objected it to be released public...
But still, the special features are so great that it's totally worth owing. I mean, the "Sandra & George" segment alone is great. I look forward to seeing all of them when I have more time next week.

How does he know that it's a birthday video? He must have seen it too. b) too personal, so Alfonso and/or Sandy objected it to be released public... Yeah, that's what I thought too! But it's so weird that they announced it and then they take it off, can they even do that? It's not right jaja But still, the special features are so great that it's totally worth owing. I mean, the "Sandra & George" segment alone is great. I look forward to seeing all of them when I have more time next week It's amazing, really.. My mum and my brother, who didn't like Gravity, were amazed with the little they saw and asked me a lot of questions about it haha And the "Sandra and George" video is hilarious! I want to talk about it when you create the thread haha I don't want to spoil anyone

sbfanargentina I sent you a personal message. I'm not sure if you got it?? I was wondering what site you got the torrent for the DVD extras... Unfortunately the DVD is out where I'm from but the only one I can get has no extras whatsoever. I can't get the Blu-Ray version as I don't have a Blu-Ray player. Sucks! I'm still getting the DVD but am missing the extra bits.
Please let me know as I really want to see it. Thanks.

Both guys must be one of press people. Sample blu-ray/dvd is given out to journalists/good bloggers before the release to promote, so I'm pretty sure that's why they got it.
I think there is always note on a press sheet or whatever saying "the contents may change without notice" or something like that. They wouldn't want to upset Alfonso or Sandy if that was their request haha!
It really sucks. Oh well... maybe there is some not-very-good blooger who has obtained the original version and upload....

I HOPE there is some not-very-good blogger haha
I'm tempted to ask, with all due respect, the "Movie Fanatic" guy if he can upload it somewhere haha
I don't lose anything, I already have the "no".

This is an interview with Ben Howard, 2nd AD for "Gravity" and he mentioned nice things about Sandy. www.thecallsheet.co.uk/news/35719Congratulations on Gravity winning so many awards and your part in it. What did you think of the Oscar success and were you able to attend any of the awards shows this year? Thanks, it's always good if people are talking about a film that you've been involved in although this wasn't the most testing experience as a Second AD! It's rare that you only have a couple of cast to look after and your job is made even simpler if they are as easy as Sandy and George. The success of the film owes so much to them embracing the process and the new technology; I don't think I've ever seen anybody dive in with such enthusiasm and professionalism as Sandy, managing to maintain that incredible performance across what was basically hundreds of motion control shots but also her good humour too. She was great fun to be around. She actually invited the floor runner and me to the Baftas the other week (nobody invites the ADs to anything, ever…) which was a brilliant, if surreal, night out. We were also nominated this year as part of Alfonso's team for the 2013 DGA award which he won for Best Director of a Motion Picture. We will be dining out on that for a while!
