Gravity topped the International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society’s Creative Arts Awards, winning Lumiere trophies for Best live action 3D feature, Best stereography in a live action film, Best 3D scene of the year and Best 2D to 3D conversion.
Alfonso Cuaron named Director of the Year at the 8th UK Regional Film Critics Awards 2014.
“It’s particularly gratifying to receive this honour from the UK regional film critics. Your encouraging words helped pave the road for audiences to really embrace the film. Gravity was produced, shot and all the post-production done here in the UK. I had the privilege of working with hundreds of talented British artists and I share this with all of them. I’d like to single out everyone at Framestore; our incredible crew, particularly our cinematographer and my dear friend Chivo [Emmanuel Lubezki]; our visual effects supervisor Tim Webber my producing partner, David Heyman; and my son and co-writer, Jonas. Lastly, I’d like to thank Sandra Bullock who fully conveyed the emotional journey of this character – the heartbeat of this story.” – Alfonso Cuaron

Thanks for that. Alfonso never forgets including kind words for Sandy. Such a gentleman. I want to see him win at the Oscars.

Yeap, that's great! Lubezki has 3 ASC now!
I actually liked AH, and I hate "Her", I don't get what people see to that movie, I find it awful haha but anyway, I don't care about which one is winning original screenplay haha

"American Hustle" didn't win the original screenply means something for "Gravity," that's why I'm glad it didn't. It doesn't mean AH wouldn't win the orignal screenplay at the Oscar, but now "Her" may have a better chance. The less AH wins the better for Gravity (and 12 Years A Slave) in terms of BD and BP chances. I haven't seen AH or Her yet, so I don't have any preference actually. But I think Spike Jonze is cute haha.

Oh well, I see your point now haha I thought it was about favoritism!
Yeah, the less AH wins, the less support it shows, the better for Gravity.. although I think 12YaS and AH will split the votes, that's also good for Gravity!
What do you think is winning BP and BD? I am going with Gravity for both.

I think Alfonso will win BD and "12 Years A Slave" will win BP. It'd be a shame if either one doesn't get one of the top awards. Yet to see "12 Years A Slave" but it seems to be a very important film, and it sounds like more complete film as a whole than Gravity. But of course I'd be happy if Gravity wins both. Just please not American Hustle or DOR. I truly believe the Best Picture should be a film that has a significant meaning in the cinema history, and "12 Years" or "Gravity" seem to be the one as a film while AH is a showcase of performances. And Alfonso won the BD again at London Film Critics Circle. www.awardsdaily.com/blog/london-film-critics-awards/

"Gravity" had disadvantage in numbers of the cast haha. George Clooney's "The Monuments Men" will have NY premiere on Feb 4. Sandy (and Alfonso & David) were in NY for another screening on Feb 3. I wonder if any of them will attend the premiere for George. This is an interesting article about the costume for "Gravity." carpetbagger.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/01/31/clothes-and-character-gravity/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_php=true&_type=blogs&emc=edit_tnt_20140131&tntemail0=y&_r=1(About Sandy) A star’s changing body: “I remember fitting Sandra in New York at the beginning of the year. She said to me, my body will change completely because I’m going to start training,” Ms. Temime said. “I thought, well, I want to see that because a lot of actresses say they’re going to change and they never do. But when Sandra came back, she had the body of an athlete. I thought, oh my God, my underwear won’t fit anymore because she really has the body of an astronaut now.”

Oh, I hope she attend the premiere!
The screening on Feb 3 was for Gravity? an AMPAS screening or what?
Thanks for that article. I don't know how much her body changed, because I think she always had the body of an athlete haha

Yeah, the Gravity screening must have been for AMPAS because that's the only one left now except for BAFTA. I only saw someone's tweet with a photo (I guess taken by an attendee) on twitter.
Sandy was seen going to the gym almost every day from January 2010 through her filming "Extremely Loud..." in NY. I guess we can't really tell from the outside but she must have gotten greater muscle around that time. But I agree, she always looks very althletic. You don't really have that toned upper arms at her age!

I know!!! Well, I guess he wasn't really thinking about other films in the race, but I think George votes for a film he really thinks the best. I don't think he votes just because he's in it (he didn't vote for himself in 2009 and voted for Jeff Bridges). I just watched George's appearance on Letterman and felt sad that he didn't mention anything about "Gravity." It's about promoting his own film, but at the end of the show, Letterman asked him about upcoming films. "Gravity" isn't upcoming film but he could have mentioned since it's still being released. Oh well... Every time I see Sandy, Alfonso and David attending event together, I feel warm as they seem to have bonded so strongly, but at the same time, I always feel it would be nice if George attended at least once with them.
