If you saw the movie, which do you think it is gonna be her nomination clip?
SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will put this with beige color:
I think it will be "I am gonna die, Aningaaq, I know we all are gonna die, everybody knows that, but I am gonna die today... etc"
Or maybe: "Tell her I'm not quitting. And tell her that I love her, Matt, you tell her that I love her so much, can you do that for me?"
Or: "Houston, Houston in the blind, this is Mission Specialist Ryan Stone reporting from the Shenzhou. I’m about to undock from Tiangong… and I have a bad feeling about this mission. Reminds me of a story… Never mind, Houston, never mind the story! Ah. It’s starting to get hot in here. The way I see it, there are only two possible outcomes. Either I make it down there in one piece and I have one hell of a story to tell! Or I burn up in the next ten minutes. Either way, whichever way… no harm, no foul! Because either way, it’s going to be one hell of a ride! I’m ready"
I loved the three of them!

For a nomination clip...
Well, among your three choices, I'd say the first one. Definitely not the last one, too long and hard to cut.
I'd go for non-dialogue scene though. The one she strips her space suit and make a fetus pose.

Yeah, I put the last one because it's one of my favourites I think haha maybe it could be cut and start from "the way I see it there are only two possible outcomes..."
The fetal position is a good one two!
Also it could be "I had a daughter, she was four..." I love the music in that scene, and the way she was talking so peacefull and her sad face

Since this is the "awards season" topic, I'd put this here (feel free to move it or make a new topic about this if you want)
I want to know you personal wins and nominations for Sandra (Oscar talking), considering the nominees, the winners or other performances that year.
Mine are (being the most objective that I can haha).
Wins:
2013 - Best actress - Gravity (I didn't watch Blue Jasmine yet but after seeing the behind the scene video, she would be my win anyway)
2009 - Best actress - The Blind Side (I love her performance here, it's a very subtle one, but that is what I love! She converted the character beloved, she gave it grace, irony, sarcasm and she made it likeable, so yes, for all this and more she is my win. Also I am of the few who liked the movie, I loved it from the moment that I saw it, much before being a Sandra fan).
Nominations
2011 - Best supporting actress - Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (she was SO good here, but I think Octavia or Jessica Chastain are my wins this year, this was an strong year, but in a weaker year she would be my win because she was fantastic).
Nominations and maybe wins:
2006 - Best supporting actress - Infamous (definitely a nomination, but I am not sure with the win, Cate was great in Notes on a Scandal, so I don't know, but probably I would give it to Sandra haha)
2005 - Best supporting actress - Crash (same as Infamous, I would nominate her for sure but I don't know about the win)
And I don't know about Premonition (maybe a nomination? but Marion Cotillard is definitely my win) and 28 days, she was excellent but the films are not "Academy films".
What do you think? Which are your personals wins/nominations?

One thing for sure is that "Premonition" would have never been nominated for those awards. I'm not saying Sandy's performance is not good in that film, but it was very much trashed by critics at that time, and I was actually surprised that it wasn't nominated for Razzies. I like that movie, but I also understand why a lot of people didn't like it.
I don't think Sandy movies were not really "awards" type except for some of them for Golden Globes' comedy category until "Crash." But I don't think Sandy's apperance in "Crash" was long enough to get nominated. Thandie Newton would have had a better chance.
"Infamous" would have had a better chance if there were no "Capote" previous year. I saw both, and I definitely prefer Tobey Jones as Capote, and I think Sandy is as good as Catherine Keener. Both Tobey and Sandy could have been nominated.
"The Blind Side" -- I think Sandy deserved the nomination, but if the movie wasn't that successful, she may not have been even nominated. And to be honest, in my opinion, among those five nominees, there were stronger performances than Sandy's. But Sandy had the strongest momentum to win.
"Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" -- If Sandy's apperance was longer, and if the film had better reviews, she might have been nominated for Supporting, but not win anyway.
"Gravity" -- definitely deserves nomination, but probably not win. I can't say because I haven't seen any of other movies. But Cate Blanchett has been winning everything, she will be seen a lot during January and February because of her new movies (George Clooney's new film to be release in Feb in US), so she'll keep her momentum. If Sandy loses Golden Globes to Cate, I think the race is over.

Yeah, I get what you say about Premonition, the film was very bad received but some critics highlighted Sandra's performance. Of course The Academy would never nominate her for Premonition!
Agree with the Infamous/Capote thing.. it was just bad timing, what a pity!
And about the time of apperance in Crash and EL&IC I think they don't care about it (at least for a nomination), Judi Dench won her Supporting Oscar for a seven minute performance lol

About that Judi Dench's thing, I remember I talked about that with someone on SBC before, but for Judi Dench, the length wouldn't have mattered, but for Sandy, it did. Sandy wasn't really considered as a serious actor during "Crash" time.
For "Extremely Loud," since the film itself didn't have the momentum (although it was nominated for BP), I think she needed to have a longer time in film in order to get nominated, if you know what I mean. You know, something extra. But good thing about EL&IC is that she proved that she was very good as a supporting role.
Anyway, it's pretty amazing that she's been in three Oscar-nominated films, and will be in four soon. That's not something many leading actors have. What a change if you look at her earlier time! (I love her earlier films as much.)

Call me crazy but here are my options:
"A time to kill". I think she gave a very subtle performance there. Her scene at the hotel room with Matthew McConaughey was really sexy, and she was convincing showing a big range of feelings. I believe she deserved a nomination for supporting actress.
"28 days". While I personally love the movie I know its not Oscar material, but she SPARKLED in that role. Sometimes you wanted to slap her, then you wanted to hug her. The scene where she sees herself from a window, hanging in the tree, or when she has breakdown at her tutor office door...
"Miss congeniality". Same as before. She nailed the first Gracie. But it was a comedy trashed by reviewers. In my opinión this movie is gonna be a little classic someday, just like today some movies of the 80s .
"Divine secrets of the ya ya sisterhood". Have you read the book? Siddalee is a very complex charachter and I think she really got all these shadows and layers. An apparently quiet and sensitive woman who needs only a very light shake to break emotionally. She was really good there.
"Crash" and "Infamous", of course. Actually I have said more tan once that while she was good in "The blind side", the Oscar victory was more like a compensation for overlooking her performances in these two movies.
"Gravity": She is going to be nominated but she is not winning the Oscar. And not other awards beyond the ones shes already won. But she is going to be in all the nominations, as we are seeing.
In "Premonition" she was excellent, much better than in "The lake house", but no way she would get nominated for that (very underrated and misunderstood) movie. Other two movies where she brights: "Wrestling Ernest Hemingway" and "The thing called love".

I think Sandy's movies are pretty much underrated, but I agree with jorgleewalker about "Miss Congeniality" having a potential as a classic. And it did get her a nom for Golden Globes. "While You Were Sleeping" has already become a rom-com classic, I think.
And I think it's safe to say that she has established herself as a serious actor both in drama and comedy. As much as I want her to work more, it's good that she has become more picky as her time for films is very limited now. We will see her in Awards talks more in the future.

WB held a party for "Gravity" on Dec 17 and they released that amazing behind-the-scenes video this week. I wonder if they will expand the theatres in January again. It doesn't seem like Sandy's not really campaigning much this time. I think only Emma Thompson has been working hard, doing "round-table" interviews, etc.
At this point, only win that I could think of for Sandy is Best Actress in An Action movie by Critics Choice Awards, which is not really important but at least some new photos for us.

I am trying to stay positive but it is hard because nobody think that Sandra could win anymore. I mean, two months before on IMDb and Goldderby forums, lot of people was predicting Sandra to win, but now there is almost anyone predicting her!
The only thing that keep me positive is that, back in 2009, nobody thought she could win until the Critics Choice and she neither won any of those "somewhere critics groups" in 2009 (and this year she won 4 or 5). So I am going to stay positive unless until the GG, the CCA and SAG haha

Well, the situation is very different this time from 2009, but let's wait and see. Golden Globes is Jan 12.
